A08 - Pomplemousse

I’m always deeply impressed by the music A08 creates. Their compositions weave together the sounds of electronic and analog instruments in a way that’s both unpredictable and perfectly balanced, inviting me into a new world every time. The electric beat’s repetitive intensity flows into jazzy piano lines, while the upright bass pulls the atmosphere tight with tension. The simple repetition of jazzy chords penetrates deeply, and in that moment, the synthesizer’s sequence suddenly opens up the world in a stunning way.

Lloyd Miller, The Heliocentrics - Fantasia Pt.2

This is a modern jazz gem that seamlessly blends traditional instrumental sounds with contemporary rhythms and melodies. Each instrument’s tone resonates deeply, evoking imagery that transcends both time and place. This track has profoundly influenced my subsequent music production.

Meshell Ndegeocello - Virgo (King Britt’s Sirius B Remix)

This track captivates me in a special way. While Meshell Ndegeocello’s original funkiness, deeply beautiful vocals, lyrics, and world-building moved me profoundly, King Britt’s remix draws the listener in even further. The blend of soothing beats and ethereal synths creates a thrilling and mysterious atmosphere. I’ve often had the pleasure of sharing this world with others during my DJ sets at The Peak Bar, Park Hyatt Tokyo, surrounded by 360-degree views of the night sky and cityscape. This is truly a timeless masterpiece.

Lea Lisa - Poem For The Lost Souls

This track has recently become one of my favorites. Lea Lisa’s “Poem For The Lost Souls” features floating synthesizer chords over a four-on-the-floor beat, with solo melodies from piano and flute that converse, weaving the story of the track. Despite its electronic foundation, the music evokes gentle natural landscapes, offering an emotional experience that resonates with personal memories and feelings.

Har-You Percussion Group - Welcome To The Party (Jazzanova Mix)

When I first heard this track, it had a tremendous impact on me. The cool world of jazz, the percussive grooves, and the electric beats merge with perfect balance, creating a sound that works beautifully both as music and within the strobe lights of a club. While I enjoy elements of house and techno in club music, the fusion with jazz’s cool tension is a key theme in my own music production, and this track has greatly influenced me.

Brijean - Hey Boy

This track features relaxed vocals, floating electric piano chords, and a perfectly balanced blend of organic and electronic beats and sounds, creating an incredibly soothing experience. It’s a song that fits seamlessly into any setting—night or day, café, bar, or club. The vocals and melody resonate with many, instantly immersing me in a relaxed state. Brijeam, the duo, is truly one of the artists I deeply admire.
