APPAREL REVIEW:

Jonna feat. Javonntte - Jus Move
(Soulphiction & Marcellus Pittman Mixes)

[Lumberjacks In Hell]

"What a lovely coincidence running into our friend’s Lumberjacks In Hell newest release! A great three tracks EP out both on vinyl and digital, brought to you by the UK based House producer Jonna together with the eminent Javonntte -hailing from Detroit- who engages in writing and singing some quite velvety vocals on top of ‘Jus Move’, the original track from which the two following remixes take inspiration. In fact, completing the All-Star line-up here’s Soulphiction’s 4AM mix and none other less than Marcellus Pittman, one of the many worthy heirs and acclaimed ambassadors of The D’s massive musical culture. You might be asking yourselves: what about the record then? Well, what would you expect from this exceptional cast? You see, you already got the answer so don’t ask me to rate it, as pieces of art like the ‘Jus Move’ EP have to be considered only as a gift. The Deep sounds, the engaging rhythm section, the smooth vocals and the creamy bassline of the original track make it the perfect anthem of this long overdue return to our beloved dancefloors around the world. As the record rolls on, the slightly more intimate version -provided by Soulphiction- sounds indeed like a 4AM conversation with a stranger in the night; a stranger who, like you, wants to dance the night away. The closing tune is entrusted to the sonic wisdom of Marcellus Pittman, who explains his view on the matter delivering a remix full of that energy, that sonic intensity, that musical spirit that someone still calls Groove and which, honestly, remains an inexplicable feeling. Wrap this all up into one record, twenty+ minutes of music, two sides of a vinyl, and you’ll have the perfect panacea to all ills! Twenty minutes of pure joy, masterly produced by some of the best artists in the scene. After all, isn’t it great having to rely on somebody who knows how to do things, be it a record label like Lumberjacks In Hell or producers like Jonna, Javonntte, Soulphiction and Marcellus? Yes of course it is! I don’t know why I keep asking myself such silly questions... Well, never mind, just buy the record: It’s amazing.
