Yoofee
I Know

This tune has so much to give. I’ve only recently discovered his music and I am an instant fan. I come from a Jazz background so Yoofee’s use of jazz harmony really draws me to this track. The beat is really well constructed and the impact of the first drop is a thing of beauty. Check this track out on a big system.

Slxm Sol
NYBB

Slxm and I have been friends for at least a decade now! When he sent me this track I could hear that this is some of his best work! Deep house lovers must have this track in their locker. A soulful deep roller with a very catchy hook keeps you drawn, almost mesmerised at times while the keys keep you locked in to the harmony. There’s plenty of goodness to listen to on Soul Quest Records, check it out if you would like to hear more of Slxm’s work.

Wookie
Live On

I love Wookie’s music. His sound is unique and his drum programming is revolutionary - you can hear a Wookie tune from a mile off! The groove is infectious in this track and the vocals give this track a real authentic feel. I know he has some new music on the way so he is definitely one to keep an eye out for.

Turbojazz & Rona Ray
Like You

I first heard this track on a random Spotify playlist and I've been following Turbojazz ever since! This collaboration with Rona Ray (she needs no introduction to the deep soulful house scene) is magic and does something you don’t hear often.. The bassline follows the top line and wow, a big move and it works a treat. Great harmony stacks from Rona top off this excellent piece of work. Shout out to Sean McCabe who has done a ridiculous remix to accompany the original..

Don Blackman
Holding You, Loving You

I’ve been a huge Don Blackman fan since I first heard his music back in 2007! I went to Trinity College of Music to study jazz trumpet so I was listening to loads of funk and soul music. His first album was played all the time in my house and I grew really fond of Holding You, Loving You because he did the BEST piano solo towards the end of the track. Don Blackman, we miss your music!

Late Nite City
Higher Ground

Late Nite City are 3 amazing guys that I am fortunate to know. They’ve been releasing music consistently for the past year or so. This tune has a beautiful groove and with subtle piano improvisations. This group of musicians are definitely due to pop off so catch them while you can, I know they are cooking up a healthy amount of ear food for all of us to enjoy!
