My 6 Gems:
Lucky Sun
Don Carlos
Alone (Paradise)
I’ve really got into Don Carlos the past couple of years - getting into all his back catalogue. This track is a stand out for me and featured on my radio show on Bloop London. It’s got that classic uplifting deep Italo piano house sound, warm chords, nice warm bass. It would work well at any point in the night...
Alex Kassian
Spirit of Eden
This is such a beautiful track that I’ve played so many times. I first heard played by Luke Una at We Out Here festival about 5 years ago - he started his set with it in the woods which was a wonderful moment and he then took us on a journey. A timeless track that will continue to be played for years to come...
Schmoov!
Put Your Mind to It
This is one of many great tracks my Schmoov! - it takes me back about 20 years or so but still gets played loads. Classic warm house sounds with a lovely breakdown. I believe its just been re released on vinyl too :)
Jimpster
Dangly Panther
As a big fan of Jimpster, I had to include the Dangly Panther which is always in my bag. Such a good groove - amazing production with catchy percussion and synth/chord stabs. Works so well on the dance floor.
Atjazz
Running Home
Going back in time again with this one. Another brilliant and prolific producer Atjazz delivers this Rhodes led groove track. Rhythmic, percussive, yet laid back in feel with a nice amount of space in the track. Also worth checking out is Atjazz’s brilliant brand new album Starbase 17 featuring a host of top notch collaborators.
Alex Kassian
E2-E4 (A reference to E2-E4 by Manuel Gottsching)
Another wonderful track by Alex Kassian is his interpretation of the classic “E2-E4” by Manuel Gottsching from 1981. His new version from last year is 12 minutes of glorious deep, balearic inspired slow tempo house. A beautiful piece of music suited to ‘end of the night’ vibes.
