ADE 2024

Product Placement at post-office.

If artists are merely a cog in the relentless machine of the music industry, “Product Placement” emerges as a vulnerable but accessible response.

On this day, during ADE 2024, we try to reclaim the substance of artistic identity, stripping away a layer of illusion to present the artists in their purest form, but with the veil of exploitation that many wish to impose upon them and that -sometimes- they impose upon themselves out of a desire for emulation, for conformity.

In the direct light of this space, the artists stands motionless, their tracks resonating like a heartbeat in the void. Mere products on display, yet in this static moment, they embody a living paradox—both critique and celebration. This is not an exhibition of superficiality but an exploration of the connection between creator and creation, between soul and sound.

Where numbers/ streams/ likes/ followers reign—“Product Placement” challenges this reductionist view. The artist’s not hiding behind the veil of the console, nor behind their persona, but stand before you, their track playing in the background, their name and work illuminated by a simple projector. Vulnerable, raw.

The space will feature select works by Tu*, the artist and curator of the event. These installations, crafted from versatile boxes held together—symbolizing the law of attraction—are a meditation on flexibility, transformation and adaptability. The boxes fit with each other just as the forces of music and art draw us into a deeper conversation.

In a twist, the artists themselves will be 'on display' within one of Tu*'s installations, making them part of the artwork itself. Its an intricate layering of the theme—where both the product and the artists presence serve as commentary on the intersection of art, identity, and consumerism.
