Wearing Shoes and his Emotion EP

- Hi Alfonso, how are you and how does it feel like releasing music on Apparel Music?

Hi... I am feeling good thank you and I hope you do too. It’s a honour to release on with Apparel Music. The Milano based label was the target that I gave to myself when I started producing this ‘Emotion EP’ so I now feel glad to have accomplished my ‘goal’. What I like about the label is its eclecticism, style and the effectiveness in transmitting emotions through music.

- Talk us through the creative process behind the making of this EP. How did it come about and how did you work on it?

‘Emotions’ is a three-track record that I produced back in September 2020. I was looking for some musical sweetness to ease the new daily-routine at home. All tracks were recorded in my home studio here in Valencia (Spain). For those who already know my sound, I led the production the same way I’ve been doing for years. Using my Roland XP80, my harmonica, my mic, some congas and Rhodes, I succeeded in making three tracks (using Ableton) that fulfilled my heart and hope yours too. The vocals used are either sampled or sung by myself.

- Which are the main music influences that you brought in your EP? Can you share with us three tracks that inspired you during the making of?

The main musical influences that I’ll share are mainly rooted in black music. From Soul to Jazz through Fusion, Disco and Funk, what I care about is the ‘feeling’ before the colour and the genre. Regarding ‘Emotion EP’ I wanted to express some grooves and vibes that I heard from my mentors: Larry Heard, Ludovic Navarre, Kevin Yost, Bobby Konders, Ron Trent

Here are three tracks that, maybe subconsciously, could have had an influence on the EP:
