Following the critical acclaim of their self-titled debut EP, praised by the likes of scene figures such as Gilles Peterson, Lefto, LaurentGarnier, Kevin Beadle, Pat Steel or Shy One, the Marseilles quartet Angles Morts is back with a four-track EP reflecting further growth in their sound. Drawing on the idea of itinerancy inspired by their wanderings on the roads of southern France, the project showcases a stunning soundscape, filled with the hypnotic textures provided by their arsenal of synths including Prophet Rev-2, Roland Alpha Juno 1, Emu-Orbit and Nord Lead A1. With its racing bass line, syncopated chords and dusty drums, the opening track “Macadam Freak” is a superb statement of the band's sound, concluding with a dreamlike saxophone solo by Matthieu Fabre.
