Johnny Hammond
Tell Me What To Do

Heard this for the first time in the Haggerston pub in Dalston London (sunday sessions) years ago by a Dj doing a warm up set before a live jazz gig, I had to ask him for the artist then I bought the record a few weeks later been my go to track. The drums for me are an earlier inspiration for broken-beat & the vibes are immaculate on the whole record.

Bugz In The Attic
Old Skool Jamz

Known really for the genre broken-beat but this is a proper deep house vibe this whole EP is a banger that you can grab on vinyl for £15. “Fried Fli” is another tune on that EP “Troniscole” also a Gem but yeah this group are one of the many reason why I love the broken-beat sound but also shows house & broken-beat can live in the same realm without any gate keeping.

Cool Peeple, Amp Fiddler, Sundiata O.M & Bill Love
Free Pt.II (Sunday Afternoon Service Mix)

This track for me is a reference point on how electronic music can bring out a type of emotion that can give you chills if you’ve ever been in love whether it’s family or a partner this will give you goosebumps...

Homowo
Basa Basa

Heard this Victoria Park on a summers day from a friend a few years ago this gave me chills I still remember that moment now vividly, only music can do that - I listened to it on repeat for like a week & dug deeper into the artists they are using minimal studio equipment just shows you that it’s all about the vibe not the set up...

Funkommunity
Dandilion

The producer of this group now known as Sorcerer was a Dj at a venue I used to go to while I lived in New Zealand his selections were incredible I got to talk to him one night & he introduced me to his own music, this song reminds of my amazing time in New Zealand such a deep track that incorporates jazz, dub reggae, soul & depth that is genre neutral.

Choo-ables
Hard To Get (Sunday Brunch Pail Mix)

This track is the definition of a gem heard for the first time while out clubbing in Cork, when the chord section comes in it’s been used in a well known track from a big producer/Dj right now??? just shows the quality of the production if a great like that is using that as a sample. Proper 90’s house banger, also a good indicator of the quality of house music being played in Cork City while I was out clubbing as a teenager brings back great memories.
