I took a deep dive into my vinyl collection and pulled out some of my essential gems — timeless records by great artists who transcend genre boundaries. These are sounds that have shaped me, sparked inspiration, and carried me down memory lane over the years.

Mop Mop
Kamakumba

Around ten years ago, I caught this incredible Italian band during their tour stop in Vienna. Their take on jazz has something almost mystical about it — and the marimba player is an absolute maestro. I bought the album right after the show, and even got it signed. 😉

Baikonour
Oben Beg (Mk2)

It’s raining outside. You close your eyes and let this Krautrock masterpiece take over. Nothing more needs to be said.

People Under The Stairs
Acid Raindrops

Back in my youth, I listened to a lot of hip hop — and this track captures that whole era for me. It still gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. Music doesn’t get any better than this. Much love to the golden days of hip hop.

Roman Rauch
Can’t Get Enough

This original banger was released by my buddy Roman Rauch back in 2010. I’ve always loved the organic vibe, crisp drums, and those lush yet relentlessly driving chords. There's also an incredible remix by one of my all-time favorite producers — the legendary SoulPhiction — sadly, he passed away far too soon. Rest in peace.

6th Borough Project
Iznae

I’ve always been a big fan of 6th Borough Project a.k.a. The Revenge. This track delivers a stripped-down groove, a bold bassline, and beautifully live-sounding drums. It’s one of those tracks that’s found its way into countless sets of mine.

Chemical Brothers
Three Little Birdies Down Beats

The last track on this list is actually where it all began for me. Exit Planet Dust by The Chemical Brothers was the very first vinyl I ever bought — and to this day, I consider it one of the greatest electronic albums of all time..
