Kerri Chandler
Track 1

I get this reference a lot on my own productions (on chord progressions + sound) so I guess it’s fair to start with Kerri Chandler…! Its hard to pick up a fav track of his catalogue as i love 99% of his productions but ‘Track 1’ has a special place in my heart (and in my record bag): The drums so simple and yet SUPER efficient, chord progressions that tick all the boxes and the jazz-like movement of the keys make this vinyl a precious tool to have. Kerri for ever.

Boo Williams
Mortal Trance

This one is an early one too. Came out in 1998 and it is still SO RELEVANT today. How is it even possible? Over 25 years and this song still hits HARD. There are two big tracks on the vinyl: Mortal Trance and Brain Cells, but Mortal Trance is the one for me. ALSO I met Boo Williams at ADE back in 2017 and he is a really nice person. Long live Boo ♥️

Danilo Plessow
Raw Cuts 3

The track that changed everything for me. I was living in Paris when this record came out (2008) and it got me (back) into the ‘game’ of buying and playing vinyl… It is Danilo’s first release and it put him on the map… As the most exciting new artist capable of crossing Jazz, Disco and House with taste. Recommended.

Todd Terje
Ragysh

Another big track for me. Came out a couple of years after Raw Cuts 3 (2011) and same, i've been playing the hella out of this record at parties. I love the fact that, unlike most club tracks nowadays, the build up is looong. Also just before it drops, there is a magic moment, where you almost feel like you’re in the eye of the storm… everything is suspended and then, BOOM.

DJ Koze
Pick Up

Now people are gonna complain while reading this but i don't care: a good track is a good track, even if it became a ‘hit’. We’re in 2018 now. DJ Koze has been around for SO LONG and some people never heard about him until this one drops. I love the fact that he is the definition of a ‘non-commercial DJ’ who somehow made a hit. DJ Koze is one of the purest artists out there, his last LP is epic and i'm glad you still got people like him in this industry. He does what he feels is right, and not what the algorithm or the majors dictate.

Harrison BDP
Decompression

Fast forward to present times. This song came out a little while back but Harrison BDP is a recent discovery of mine. I think he encapsulates very well the spirit of Classic House with current sounds. He appeals to a younger crowd and that song (but most of his tracks are too) is a good bridge when you got people in your hands and you went to bring them to deeper territories. One love.
