Now & Next: Ten Fingerz

Now & Next is a quick-fire interview series built around two simple but telling questions. We ask artists to reflect on where they’re at in their career and creative journey, and where they’re headed next. For each answer, they pick two tracks: one that sums up where they’re at right now, and another that hints at where they’re going. The artists also drop a few lines about each track, giving us a peek into their creative mindset.

Ten Fingerz Q&A

Where Am I?

Funny your question reminds me of the « Where you at » track by the ever great D Carter who is a main inspiration for me. For a very long time I’ve been in the kind of the state of mind he talks about in the track actually, wondering if there was more to life. Investigating the inside of my mind every so often, sometimes feeling calm and complete and sometimes feeling nervous, insecure and kind of edgy. But as time goes by, this feeling has kind of disappeared, and it’s music-making, being an actor of the scene, getting involved in the culture I love as a player, that has fullfilled the circle for me. Relfeektionz EP also embodies this late coming of age, it’s an EP that comes 3 years after the 1st one with Dealt With, and 4 years after I’ve released my very 1st track and I feel it’s richer in terms of production, more versatile with 3 different tracks relfecting different moods and it’s getting closer to the sound I’ve always wanted to produce. Getting there slowly, not where I want to be exactly, but knowing where Am at and looking more confidently to where I want to go.

Where Am I Going?

I’m gonna release a different EP in early 2025, with a more electronic sound, and also tracks that are not designed for the dancefloor, that are more for listening. Wrapping up the project at the moment, should come out with a vinyl too. And Also working on a couple of EPs that will come out next year on different labels, dancefloor stuff. So hopefully ‘m going to make more music, different music too, keeping my DNA as a producer and sometimes being able to take a step on the side to do something different. I look up at producers like Demuir, DJ Sneak, Rafaelle Ciavolino, Kink, Art Of Tones guys who do amazing music for the dancefloor. Working hard on this, on my machines, on improving my production skills. Always droping an acid track here and there, because I’m a sucker for it and if people like it, hopefully at some point when they think about acid house for the dancefloor, my name and production may come up. We’ll see, haha. I wish I’ll be able to have an impact on the scene, not just making tracks, but making music that matters.

Track (Now):
Ten Fingerz – Jens’ Dance

"This track is the sister track to my track « NS » released on Frappé in 2021, I made it for my friend Jens from Berlin, who runs « The Clubmap » page and has been so supportive with this track. It’s made me confident I could relate to people I’ve never met, in other countries through my music production. It’s a bit emotional and still very raw, acidy. Just the way I like it, I hope Jens likes it too !"

Track (Next):
Demuir and DJ Sneak
Good Ol’ days

"This is the epitome of the music I’d like to make, jackin’, raw, full of soul, slightly electronic and an absolute dancfefloor killer. It’s just beautifully lethal. Been playing this track for a couple of years now, ALWAYS works. From 2 of my favorite producers in the world (which we’ve had the chance to work with on Frappé too)"
