Apparel Music is a sanctuary for the strange and eclectic, the freaks and weirdos who move among us and have devoted themselves to soulful electronic music. Jakob Apelian has a sparse discography, at least under this name, but he makes tracks with deep grooves and a lively shake and that’s in full effect on Better Dimension. Imagine the best of the lo-fi downtempo wizards who have been stomping all over the scene lately — but it’s hi-fi, with all of the soul but a gentle upswing, and you’ve got Better Dimension down cold.
