My 6 Gems:
Colm K
The Vision
Sharde
A records that always reminds me of the Summer. It's a great record for bridging across vibes, it starts with a quite moving baseline but resolves into a beautiful dreamy jazzy hands masterpiece that doesn't get noodly. It's produced by Eddie “Satin” Maduro on the amazing Nu Groove Records from New York. The A Side is what i bought this record for but over time this just kept growing on me.
Haagen Daz
The Boulevard Connection
I'm a huge hip-hop fan and i never owned this record, but i always loved it. Released in 1998 on the indie hip-hop / underground label Fondle ’Em Records, it features one of he emcees from the group The Artifacts. Great rhymes, a jazzy beat, it captures the late 90s aesthetic that i just loved, without being too backpack rap.
D. Tiffany
Get Back To You
I always struggle to name the one record that never leaves my bag, but by law of averages, this four-track EP by D. Tiffany is definitely it. Released in 2017 on Pacific Rhythm, it’s a true Leatherman tool of a record — able to cross genres, set moods, and move the dancefloor in equal measure.
Oveous
Queimar (Atjazz Remix)
I’m part of the Sunday Times collective here in Cork City, where we’ve been running parties for over 15 years. This track has been a standout for us in 2025, defining a sound that truly resonates with our dancefloor — a deep, percussive groove topped with a killer vocal hook. It’s versatile enough to work early or late in the night, and for us, it captures the sound of Sunday Times this year.
Charlie Haden & Pat Metheny
The Moon Song
A non-electronic number that shouts Sunday evening. The Moon Song is a track from Beyond the Missouri Sky (Short Stories), a duo album by bassist Charlie Haden & guitarist Pat Metheny released in 1997. It's a beautiful example of how two amazing musicians communicate with minimal instrumentation yet create a full emotional sweep.
Iron Curtis
You Are
Another big record over the year for us — deceptively simple but very effective, low-slung and warm on the dancefloor. Everyone loves a good breakdown, and this one delivers in spades.
