'Endtroducing'

Bellamy and his Despite Everything EP

- Hi Hélios, how are you and how does it feel like releasing music on Apparel Music?

I'm doing great, thanks ! I'm super excited to release my EP with Apparel Music. It's such a great label, and I really love their aesthetic ! I am very honored to be part of the Apparel Music releases family.

- Talk us through the creative process behind the making of this EP. How did it come about and how did you work on it?

So to be transparent, this EP wasn't originally planned. I usually produce more upbeat tracks, tailored for clubs. I started working late at night, composing with deeper emotions. Emotions are an integral part of me and my creative process. I let my sensitivity express itself wherever it wanted, in any way possible. In the end, I really enjoyed having this duality with my feelings. I find it truly important because it allows me to represent all the facets of the person I am and so create sounds that can resonate with everyone, whatever their current state of mind.

- Which are the main music influences that you brought in your EP? Can you share with us three tracks that inspired you during the making of?

The main influences that inspired me for this project are came from the neo- soul scene, such as D'Angelo and J Dilla for the production. I'm also passionate about artists who have or had a foot in jazz, like St. Germain or Leo Pol.
