'Deledda and 2KS - Spore EP'
Apparel Tronic is back with a big record. The label’s mission of always bringing new and diverse sounds without submitting to a genre manifests magnificently with this brand new release; a collaboration between the founders 2KS and the exceptional pianist/composer Alessandro Deledda. Deledda, who’s experience is yet extensive having played in many orchestras, on big stages and having experimented numerous genres throughout his career like Jazz, Classic, Contemporary, Electronica and not new to the Apparel Tronic catalogues (he played on the 2KS’s ‘U Can Say’ remix of Kulaki), this time engages in the production of four tracks where his piano intertwines with 2KS’s sound design. The result is the ’Spore EP’, a four track record uniting the composing genius of the pianist and the creative talent of Kisk and SCHiLLiNG, making it an astonishing example of musical experimentation. Deledda’s smooth, yet firm, virtuosities intersect with the an array of soundscapes created carefully blending big basses, foley, home/field recordings, voices and synthesizers giving life to four complementary compositions which flow perfectly, one after another, in a peaceful and blissful, dark and luminous, musical experience.
The EP has been produced during the Corona Virus pandemic, which forced the artists to work separately on the tracks; Deledda (together with David Giacchè who worked alongside him on the fonia and the piano effects) set the blueprint and the 2KS pair then tailored all the sounds on their patterns, trying to design experimental soundscapes in respect of the ultimate protagonist, the piano. Last but not least, the label is glad to welcome to the family another great artist; the awarded Italian and São Paulo based photographer Tommaso Protti, who’s amazing pictures you’ll see as covers of the Apparel Tronic’s records for the next 10 releases.
Mastered by Lopazz, distributed by Wordandsound, the ‘Spore EP’, which sets the ground for a second wave of releases from the imprint, will be available in digital version on all the streaming platforms from the 21th of September.
