That’s how it all started:
“I do not make dance music for the masses, I make music for the small majority that listens.”Moodymann
I’ am Giuseppe. My adventure with Apparel Music started two year ago, in the summertime as I was caught between the sweltering heat and the need to escape. When I met Gigi, my business partner, a lot of things changed in my head. I wanted to set up a label that was the container for my true passion – travel. The first thing you think is, ‘where do you want to start from and what do you want to take with you? One thing I certainly didn’t want to be was a copy of what was already on the market. I was just trying to find a simple way to give life to my ideas and to get them out there. The sound I had in my head in that period was deep house, but jazz would always come back to my fingers or in the tapping of my feet.
It certainly wasn’t something new, but in truth instrumental and electronic music have always gone hand in hand in my exploration. Jazzy came about in an unpretentious production – a kick, a bass, a shaker, a clap and a Sonny Rollins sample taken from who knows which dated vinyl.
Lopazz was the first one to open up to me, to get me excited and support me. Still today, he looks after the editing of Apparel Music’s vinyl output. His remixing leaves me breathless. The summer of 2009 was also truly blessed thanks to the collaboration forged with SCSI-9. Although separated by many kilometers, in a short time we came together and found so much common ground. Maybe the sound speaks for itself, or maybe coincidences are part of the game. For sure, the first remix by Anton and Maxim for Apparel Music finds in Jazzy Tourism the very first significant example of perfect sharing. To close the project, Yapacc offered me an introspective version with a touch of deep that is just right. The record was ready. This is how Apparel was born. With artwork by Luca Beolchi, Jazzy Tourism was the first piece of the puzzle.
The cover of APL001 Jazzy Tourism EP is, in fact, the third element of a picture that, alongside APC001 Jazzy Caravan VA, for the Apparel Music Classic catalogue and the still unreleased Spin My Mind EP for the Apparel Music Limited (APLTD) catalogue, will represent my label.

That’s somebody to watch:
Kjofol is the Apparel Music talent 2010. A french guy who mixes the classical piano and electronic sounds. For the past year is working on her first album for Apparel Music. So much attention to the search for his unique sound that we believe and authentic represents the model that we seek: “as only testing perfectionist turns a simple idea into a masterpiece”. Review for Jazzy Garden EP on De-Bug, Resident Advisor, Ibiza-Voice.. Laurent Garnier presents his EP on the radio. Supported by Ellen Allien, Dj Sneak, Tini, Mark Henning, Ame, M.A.N.D.Y., Lopazz, Robert Owens, Secret Cinema, Brother’s Vibe and many others.. The track Littel Garden was chosen for the Oxfam Advertising 2010.
